Le Fonds Victor a été créé à la mémoire de Victor Van de Woestyne décédé accidentellement à Bruxelles le 4 novembre 2016. Il avait 13 ans.
Victor avait toujours un livre à portée de mains, il lisait partout. C’était sa passion.
En souvenir de Victor et pour donner un sens à ce qui n’en a pas, ses parents Patricia Vergauwen et Francis Van de Woestyne ont décidé de créer un Fonds dont l’objectif est d’encourager les jeunes de 12 à 15 ans à la lecture.
A cet âge-là, les adolescent.e.s découvrent un nouvel environnement scolaire, des nouvelles et nouveaux ami.e.s, des nouvelles activités. Et même les bon.ne.s lectrices et lecteurs réduisent souvent le temps qu’ils/elles consacrent à la découverte des livres.
Par ses actions concrètes et ciblées, le Fonds Victor veut participer à une démarche active, ludique et rayonnante en faveur de la lecture.
