FORICA (Fund for Research and Innovation in Cambodia) is a French dotation fund created in 2018 by three main stakeholders of franco-cambodian cooperation : the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of France and Cambodia, the France Alumni network and the French Institute of Cambodia.
As a non-profit organization in charge of a general interest mission, the fund works in favor of the sustainable development of Cambodia, by focusing on the support of its young generations. Its main objective is to give young Cambodian people new opportunities, through cooperation between universities and French companies.
We pay a particular attention to the transparency of donation management. FORICA is actually engaged in the achievement of the nineteen objectives for development announced by the United Nations.
FORICA invests the collected donations in concrete projects involving Cambodian students, young researchers and entrepreneurs. These projects cover a wide range of actions :
- Internships in France for Cambodian students,
- Development of innovative products,
- Support of sustainable business creation and development,
- Research programs,
- Scholarships
As an example, we can mention that FORICA, is a partner of the French-Cambodian Days of Research ("Journées de la Recherche France-Cambodge") dedicated to the promotion of scientific research. In 2019, the fund also sponsored the Sousdei France project, allowing fifteen external students in medical science, from the University of Health Science, to have an observation internship in French hospitals.
This new universitarian year offers plentiful possibilities and new opportunities to FORICA.
