There are approximately 8.5 billion disposable plastic drinking straws used annually in the UK alone and an astonishing 500 million used daily in the USA, making them one of the top 10 piece of debris found upon our beaches and coastlines. We dont have any figures yet for Spain, where we are based, but all you have to do is just visit the bars and hotels and think of the millions of tourists that arrive every year and that use plastic drinking straws everyday.
Our aim is to introduce an alternative to plastics, one of the biggest most used items being drinking straws.
We want to introduce wheat drinking straws, one use , degradable and ecologicaly freindly as well as fun to use.
To start our company we need to buy a large amount of stock, we are aiming to introduce 250,000 straws per month every month, our main clients being bar, restaurante and hotel chains throughout the country.
Why so many? Firstly because of pricing, most businesses look at pricing before anything else and we want to offer our wheat straws in bulk quantities, therefore forming a strong client base from day one and introducing an ecological alternative very quickly.
We will in the future be developing a web site, posibly called "Formula-S" where we will inform in English and Spanish of our project and its development. All our donators will, unless otherwise stated, be named on the site as pioneers for the project and will recieve our thanks.
