Coşkun Aral önderliğinde Haziran 2020’de kurulan FOTON Derneği, amatörlerin ve profesyonellerin katılım sağlayacağı, Türk fotoğrafına katma değer sağlayacak projeleri gerçekleştirmeyi ve aynı zamanda bu tür oluşumlara destek olmayı amaçlamaktadır.
FOTON Derneği, düzenlediği Fotoğraf Festivalleri, PhotoMaraton etkinlikleri, Street Photo Festival, Fotoğraf Kongresi, Fotoğraf Zirveleri, Yılın Fotoğrafçı Ödülleri, FotoSafariler, Ara Güler Anma Törenleri, PhotoWalk etkinlikleri, fotoğraf gezileri, fotoğraf okuma etkinlikleri, fotoğraf söyleşileri, fotoğraf odaklı workshop çalışmaları ve fotoğraf sergileri ile uluslararası boyutta fotoğraf dünyasına katkıda bulunacak çalışmalarla faaliyetlerini sürdürmektedir. FOTON, fotoğrafın her alanında çeşitli projeler geliştirmeye ve bu alandaki çalışmaları desteklemeye devam etmektedir.
FOTON’un Türkiye’nin 81 ilinden üyesi bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca dünyanın önemli şehirlerinden ve Türkiye’deki 40’tan fazla ilden temsilcileri ve Türkiye genelinden şubeleri bulunmaktadır.
