Foundation Ventures is a nonprofit focused on community growth through local high-schoolers interested in making an impact on communities via business and entrepreneurship. There are four main parts to Foundation Ventures: The Marketing Agency, the Conferences and Events branch, the Newspaper, and the Incubator. The Marketing Agency is designed to a platform to help small businesses within the local area expand and grow through effective and professional marketing services provided by trained, eager, and dedicated designers and marketing specialists, who are supervised by trained Managers that are usually senior designers/marketing specialists who were promoted or are in college or above. . A cut of the money generated from the marketing agency will go to the Incubator. The Conferences and Events branch of the company is designed to give high schoolers exposure to 1) established business execs and 2) opportunity to network with other high schoolers interested in business, in the hopes of building lasting business connections and also to potentially bring people together to start a startup themselves. We recently concluded our first conference which was held on May 20th, with keynote speakers Jack Smith (Co-founder of Vongle) and Charles Geschke (Co-founder of Adobe), along with workshops run by the accelerator Siliconval.ly, which was one of our sponsors. The Incubator branch of the company focuses on taking the funds generated from the other two branches to be channeled into funding startups by high schoolers or other worthy ventures . Mainly though, it focuses on helping high schoolers develop their own enterprises, something that no other professional incubator allows for. For instance, we’ll hold professional pitch comps that decide on whether a high school enterprise will receive funding, or a high school enterprise can reach out to us for potential funding.
