La dure réalité du contexte social au Burundi se traduit notamment par des milliers d’enfants vivant dans les rues de la capitale Bujumbura. Certains ont eu un jour une maison et une famille mais n’ont eu d’autre choix que de fuir une extrême pauvreté ou des actes de violence. Les autres, nés directement dans la rue, n’ont jamais connu la chaleur d’un foyer.
Notre but est de construire un refuge, une maison pour permettre à ces enfants de vivre décemment, de recevoir une éducation, de se sentir aimés et en sécurité. Nous souhaitons leur offrir la chance d’aller à l’école, afin qu'ils puissent se construire un avenir: devenir quelqu’un.
Le foyer compte aujourd’hui 9 enfants et il semblerait que ca ne soit que le début. Nous avons encore beaucoup d'ambitions et souhaitons avoir un impact conséquent.

The harsh reality of the social context in Burundi is reflected in the thousands of children living on the streets of the capital Bujumbura. Some of them once had a home and a family but had no choice but to flee extreme poverty or violence. Others, born directly on the streets, have never known the warmth of a home.
Our goal is to build a refuge, a home to allow these children to live decently, to receive an education, to feel loved and safe. We want to give them the chance to go to school, so that they can build a future for themselves: to become somebody.
We have now 9 children in our home. This is only the beginning of our journey, as we have the ambition to help many more children.
