Frulego is implementing a new & innovative sales channel, founded on the principle of healthiness & freshness and concretized by the placement of smoothie vending machines.
The typical so-called Frulego station visibly mixes fresh & frozen fruits and vegetables on the spot under premium price, without addition of any sugars or concentrated add-ons. The smoothie vending machines should guarantee the same revenue streams for interested private and public instances as the oft-recurring vending machines, but are offering a healthy alternative for the soda vending machines currently conquering the company and school canteens. Continuous digital connectivity and extensive room for product customization ensure full alignment with the requirements of the typical end-consumer, asking for the highest level of personalized service and products.
Frulego is currently surrounded by a network of various technical and commercial experts, as well as by the most prominent health and food experts in the academic sector (University of Wageningen, Ghent University, University of Antwerp and VUB). The first fully integrated vending machine is scheduled to be finalized. First tests with the non-automated prototype in company and university environment resulted in extremely positive customer feedback in terms of health perception, taste & product attractiveness.
Frulego has already been granted with a subsidy granted from the Flemish government agency for Innovation by Science and Technology (IWT) and has passed its seed capital round in June 2016.
