De interventie Futsal Chabbab is een door Movisie, Kenniscentrum Sport & Bewegen en NJI erkend welzijnsprogramma voor kinderen en jongeren met een pedagogische insteek. Hierbij worden sport, onderwijs, veiligheid en leefbaarheid met elkaar verbonden.
Binnen Futsal Chabbab wordt zaalvoetbal ingezet om jongens en meisjes te bereiken die vaak op straat te vinden zijn.
Het doel is om schooluitval onder kinderen en jongeren te beperken, overlast in de wijk te verminderen en zelfontplooiing te bevorderen. De jongeren worden binnen én buiten de sportzaal op hun gedrag gecoacht en volgen verplicht huiswerkbegeleiding als de schoolprestaties achterblijven. Er wordt nauw samengewerkt met onder meer gemeente, scholen, politie, jeugdcoaches en ander stedelijk jongerenwerk.
Voor meiden zijn er aparte trainingsactiviteiten en workshops.
