Future Leaders of Nottingham was set up to make leadership in the city more diverse and representative of all communities – by discovering and developing future leaders from all walks of life. Now in its third year, the city-wide positive action programme is creating a network of talented leaders with the ability to inspire others and drive change – across the private, public and voluntary sectors.

I’d highly recommend it to anyone who wants to progress their career and has the confidence to take on new challenges.” We’re not looking for perfectly formed leaders already in management positions, we want to discover people with genuine leadership potential.
What’s in it for employers?
Across the UK, leadership is still hugely under-representative of women and black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, with just 6% of people from BAME backgrounds in top jobs and only 22% of women. LGBT+ communities face discrimination too, with a recent survey finding that over half of LGBT+ employees hide their sexual orientation and gender identity, because they think they won’t be considered for promotion or development opportunities. We want to change that.
The programme is backed by some of Nottingham’s leading organisations. It’s run by The Renewal Trust in partnership with Nottingham City Council, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service, Nottingham City Homes, Futures Advice and Communities Inc.
How to apply
The cost of the course will be paid by your organisation:
Voluntary sector: FREE PLACES AVAILABLE
Public sector: £2,200 per person
Private sector: £4,400 per person (includes sponsored place for voluntary sector)
