Gaia is a joint venture company co-founded by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Vestforbrænding, with the purpose of developing a Carbon Capture facility. Operating at Vestforbrænding’s Glostrup facility, the carbon capture facility will capture 500.000 tonnes of CO₂ each year from municipal waste-to-energy operations—supporting national targets for emission reductions and showcasing to the world, that a netzero future is possible for waste-to-energy facilities.

• Pre-Qualification: Gaia has been pre-qualified for the Danish Energy Agency’s Carbon Capture and Storage Fund, marking a significant step forward for one of Denmark’s most ambitious CCS initiatives.
• Environmental Impact Assessment: Approved by the Danish Environmental Protection Agency in January 2025.
