Founded in 2000, Gamecaster, Inc. was an American media and technology company that created one of the first "eSports" TV series to air on American television. The series featured a live studio audience, was sponsored by leading video game publisher Electronic Arts (EA), and broadcast nationally by Dish Network. PC Gamer Magazine applauded the series for “Giving viewers a new level of quality for tournament shows.”
To enhance the spectator experience, the company researched, developed, and manufactured the GCS3 Virtual Cinematography System. The technology enables professional sports camera operators to film within video games during live tournaments. Referring to the technology, CBS News wrote: “The ability to broadcast from within the game completely changes the way people view video game competitions.”
