Kurucumuz Renzo Rino Disperati, 1948’de Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin davetiyle Toscana’dan İstanbul’a geldi. Görev yeri, Atatürk’ün talimatıyla 1928 yılında kurulan ve Türkiye’nin ilk bahçıvan okulu olan Büyükdere Fidanlığı’ydı. Görevi; Rönesans’a dayanan İtalyan bahçecilik geleneğini, Türkiye’ye anlatmaktı. Kurucumuz Renzo Rino Disperati, Büyükdere Fidanlığı’nda beş yıl boyunca, hızla yeni kentlerini inşa eden genç Cumhuriyet’in ihtiyacına cevap verecek süs bitkilerini yetiştirdi ve ülkenin dört bir yanında görev alacak bahçıvanları eğitti.
Renzo Rino Disperati, İstanbul ve Türkiye’yi çok sevdi. 1953 yılında Büyükada’da ve 1960 yılında Yalova’da kurduğu bahçelerle hem Gardensa’nın hem de ülkemizde peyzaj sektörünün temellerini attı. Gardensa; zengin kültürüyle, iş disipliniyle, etik değerleriyle, yaratıcı kimliğiyle, güncel ve güçlü teknolojisiyle sektörün öncüsü ve okulu oldu.
