GCIL Equality Academy also administer the highly successful Professional Careers Graduate Traineeship programme. Professional Careers is an innovative and unique national programme that works in partnership with employers to match the ideal candidate with your organisation. Since 2001 we have matched over 400 disabled people with over 200 organisations, from all sectors across Scotland; with over 85 per cent of participants progressing into further employment or higher education on completion of their placement. As well as a number of other organisations NHSScotland and the Scottish Government have entered into a partnership with GCIL Equality Academy; to provide Graduate Traineeship opportunities to disabled people across Scotland. The key aims of this partnership are: • Support disabled people who have experienced severe disadvantage and exclusion into sustainable professional level employment (2 year traineeship). • Increase the representation of disabled people in professional training positions across Scotland. • Provides valuable work experience to help secure permanent employment at the end of the placement.
