Based in Toronto, Canada, we launched in 2015 with an initial idea based on our founder’s experience in the jewelry industry. We started as a booking service for people in our city to see loose diamonds in local jewelry stores by appointment, but this evolved into a larger vision.
After a few years of operating locally and expanding the types of items listed, we decided to shift into an online marketplace in early 2019. This allowed stores to sell directly online, while still giving them an online presence that could direct local customers to their physical store. We also allowed more types of businesses to sell with us, and from all around the world. In turn, we rebranded to Gemsby.
Now we have a diverse set of sellers listing unique items and services on Gemsby. Our gaze is set on delivering the best experience for everyone in this space. Our vision is becoming the premier global marketplace for gems & jewelry, related items and complimentary services.
