Wir sind eine ärztliche Hilfsorganisation, die weltweit tätig ist - und das seit 40 Jahren!
German Doctors e.V. – unser Name ist Programm: Wir sind eine international tätige Nichtregierungsorganisation, die unentgeltlich arbeitende Ärztinnen und Ärzte in Projekte auf den Philippinen, Indien, Bangladesch, Sierra Leone, Uganda und Kenia entsendet. Wir setzen uns für ein Leben in Würde ein und kümmern uns um die Gesundheitsversorgung und die Ausbildung benachteiligter Menschen in unseren Einsatzregionen. Durch Präventivmaßnamen wie begleitende Ernährungsprogramme oder Hygieneschulungen sind wir zudem bestrebt, die Gesundheit unserer Patientinnen und Patienten auch langfristig zu verbessern. Unsere Hilfe gewähren wir allen Menschen ohne Ansehen von ethnischer Zugehörigkeit, Religion, Staatsangehörigkeit, politischer Überzeugung oder sonstigen Unterscheidungsmerkmalen.
Unsere Ärztinnen und Ärzte arbeiten für uns ehrenamtlich in ihrem Jahresurlaub oder im Ruhestand für einen Zeitraum von 6 Wochen und verzichten dabei auf jegliche Vergütung. Seit 1983 wurden so über 7.500 Einsätze durchgeführt. Den Menschen in unseren Projektregionen bieten wir auf diesem Wege seit 40 Jahren Hilfe, die bleibt!
