Dynamic and award-winning, Gig-Arts is a national charity registered in England and Wales which helps artists of all abilities to shine through creative enterprise events. The charity supports school children, college and university students and vulnerable adults with learning disabilities.
We are committed to helping people who love the arts, music, drama, design, sculpture and creative events to develop their business and communication skills and to 'make a difference' in their local communities through their creativity.
With an excellent reputation within the education, disability arts and charity sector, Gig-Arts is considered a forward-looking organisation, committed to developing new accessible services and working in partnership with schools, colleges, universities and day care centres.
Gig-Arts is based in Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire and since 2005 has toured throughout Great Britain in cities including London, Oxford, Leeds, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Dublin. The charity's exciting creative enterprise events have also been held internationally in the USA in the New York and Atlanta area.
All Gig-Arts Events are offered for 'free' to individual disadvantaged participants. Each event is financially supported by corporate sponsorship, grant funding and in-kind contributions. Customised 'Corporate Gig-Arts Events' for business managers are available online in return for financial 'CSR' donations towards art materials and the charity's core costs.
The charity has a diverse board of trustees who meet online two to three times a year. Taking a hands-on approach, they steer and support Founder-CEO Abbie Cooke and her team to present the Gig-Arts Events.
