Wir sind da, wo unsere Wirksamkeit am Größten ist: auf der Straße. Menschen, die auf der Straße überleben müssen, haben kaum Zugang Sanitäranlagen. Deshalb sind wir vor Ort, bieten Halt und ein Gefühl von Zugehörigkeit. Wir schaffen einen geschützten Raum, in dem Menschen ihre eigenen Lösungen entwickeln können.
Darüber hinaus versuchen wir für offenen Austausch, Akzeptanz und konkrete Verbesserung innerhalb der Quartiere, wo GoBanyo aktiv ist, zu sorgen. Wir sind laut und kooperativ. Wir möchten die Themen von der Straße auf die gesellschaftspolitische Agenda bringen.
Initiiert wurde GoBanyo vom ehemals Betroffenen Dominik Bloh und von Sozialaktivistin Gülay Ulaş.
Die gemeinnützige GmbH haben die beiden dann mit Chris Poelmann, Tobias Peschel, clubkinder eV, Hanseatic Help eV und der Stiftung von Viva con Agua gegründet.
Über 250 Freiwillige konnte GoBanyo gGmbH bereits beschäftigen und mit einem zusätzlichen hauptamtlichen Team den regelmäßigen Duschbetrieb gewährleisten. Seit Dezember 2019 konnten bislang über 20.000 Duschen ausgegeben werden.
