Gordon engineering leadership center email format

The Gordon Center at the UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering was established in 2009. Aiming to educate and train effective engineering leaders who create new products and jobs that benefit society, the Gordon Center at the UC San Diego offers a novel, end-to-end set of leadership and training curricula for students at the high school, undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as for professionals working in the technology fields. Through its Gordon Scholars and Engineering Leadership Awards, the Center identifies and celebrates talented individuals with leadership potential. In addition, the Center exposes students to the advice, experience and attitudes of proven engineering leaders through training events including workshops, leadership forums, and summer schools. Through different training events at the Gordon Center, an engineering leader learns to: 1) envision engineering solutions to the issues facing society and a project based engineering solution to a perceived need; 2) assess potential markets and listen to potential users to discover additional innovation opportunities; 3) have breadth and depth of engineering knowledge to understand constraints, but the vision to see the possibilities to enable the development of innovative engineering solutions; 4) convincingly communicate their vision to various stakeholders; 5) possess a passion and intellectual drive for life-long learning; 6) prepare outstanding business plans and proposals, create innovative designs, produce and effectively market; 7) take risks in exploring or inventing innovative designs and processes in order to meet challenging performance goals; 8) accept personal responsibility for developing projects on time, within budge and to the client's specifications; 9) recruit, motivate,educate and engender loyalty from team members; 10) maintain the highest level of integrity and ethics in every situation.
