Blox, previously known as GrassrootED, is a startup formed by a collective of architects, technologists, and social enthusiasts. Our primary mission? Reworking the education infrastructure in rural areas of developing countries.
There's a stark number: 240 million children who aren't getting the education they deserve. To us, this isn't just data; it's an immediate issue that traditional building methods won't solve. Our answer? Move architecture from the usual service model to a modular, scalable product.
Over the last four years, we've dived deep into various projects, challenging regular design ideas, and examining ways to fund our mission sustainably. The outcome? Blox AMS - an Adaptive Modular System. It's our solution to quickly and efficiently renovate crumbling educational spaces, mainly where they're needed most, in developing countries.
Our focus has always been on the educational needs of rural areas. We believe in working with and for the local communities, giving them not just improved spaces but also the skills to maintain and grow these spaces.
