Groundsman Association blev stiftet d. 1. december 2011. Foreningen er upolitisk og tværfaglig. Foreningen har til formål er at samle alle med interesse for pleje af boldbaner og lignende græsarealer. Gennem fokus på uddannelse og fagligt netværk vil foreningen styrke det faglige miljø omkring plejen af boldbaner. GAD arbejder for bedre baner i Danmark. Foreningen har i dag (november 2019) 224 medlemmer.
Uge 2 seminar – foreningens årsmøde
GAD arrangerer hvert år, i samarbejde med AMU-Nordjylland, Sandmoseskolen, et 3 dages seminar, som afholdes i uge 2. Her mødes ligesindede og får oprustet deres faglige rygsække og styrket det faglige netværk.
Markvandringer
GAD arrangerer årligt markvandringer for foreningens medlemmer og indbudte gæster. Markvandringer kan være et besøg på et idrætsanlæg/stadion, hvor der bl.a. vil blive fortalt om driften af anlægget. Arrangementerne annonceres på GAD´s hjemmeside.
