Grupul de Studii de Securitate a fost fondat în primăvara anului 2014, la inițiativa unor studenți de la Facultatea de Științe Politice a Universității din București, specializarea Studii de Securitate, fiind primul grup înființat în cadrul acestei specializări. Ulterior, activitatea organizației noastre s-a dezvoltat, atât prin crearea unor parteneriate cu alte organizații neguvernamentale, cât și prin recrutarea unor membri de la alte instituții de învățământ.
Scopul acestui grup este acela de a facilita interacţiunea dintre tinerii interesaţi de domeniile securitaţii, relațiilor internaționale sau intelligence-ului, prin organizarea unor conferinţe, dar şi a altor evenimente care să îi ajute să îşi dezvolte capacităţile de analiză şi sinteză, precum şi abilităţile de comunicare.
Activitatea grupului se desfășoară în cadrul a cinci departamente: Proiecte&HR, Comunicare, Marketing, Fundraising și Cercetare, ce cuprind aproximativ 30 de membri.

The Security Studies Group was founded in 2014, being an initiative of several students of the Faculty of Political Science, University of Bucharest. The group was the first association of this type established by students majoring in Security Studies at the Faculty of Political Science. Subsequently, the activity of our think-tank has developed both through the creation of partnerships with other NGOs and the recruitment of members from other educational institutions or backgrounds.
The mission of the Security Studies Group (GSS) is to promote the interaction between young people interested in fields such as security, international relations or intelligence and experts in these areas, by organizing conferences and other events to help them develop their capacities for analysis and synthesis and also their communication and public speaking skills.
The group's activity is conducted in five departments: Projects & HR, Communication, Marketing, Fundraising and Research, comprising approximately 30 members.
