Het Nutshuis
Het Nutshuis is een onafhankelijk podium voor kunst, cultuur en maatschappij. Het programma wordt gemaakt met het oog op de achtergronden van en veelzijdige perspectieven op maatschappelijke kwesties. Bovendien biedt Het Nutshuis ontwikkelingsmogelijkheden voor performancekunstenaars vanuit de beeldende kunst en muziek.
Het Nutshuis borduurt voort op de gedachte van Het Nut. Het Nut was een burgerinitiatief in de 19e eeuw dat zich inzette voor de ’ontwikkeling en verheffing van de gewone man’. Het verbeteren van de maatschappelijke positie van de onderklasse speelde daarin een grote rol. Het Nutshuis voelt zich nog steeds verwant aan de basis van deze gedachte. Publiek en makers krijgen in Het Nutshuis de ruimte om hun horizon te verbreden en het experiment aan te gaan.
In de zalen van Het Nutshuis vinden meerdere keren per week debatten, seminars, talkshows, filmprogramma’s en experimentele geluids- en beeldende kunstperformance plaats. Deze programma’s worden gemaakt met het oog op verdieping en achtergronden bij maatschappelijke kwesties en kunst en cultuur vanuit een maatschappelijk perspectief. Naast deze programma’s is Het Nutshuis op werkdagen tussen 11 en 16 uur gratis te bezoeken voor de doorlopende fotografie exposities, het café en de tuin.
Het Nutshuis wordt ook verhuurd voor externe evenementen.
