Träger der HFHS ist der „Verein für Ausbildung in anthroposophischer Heilpädagogik“. Der Verein ist im Sinne von Art. 60 ZGB gemeinnützig, hat seinen Sitz in Dornach und ist im Handelsregister eingetragen. Mitglieder des Vereins sind natürliche und juristische Personen, zur Hauptsache Vertreter von anthroposophischen Institutionen für Kinder, Jugendliche und Erwachsene mit Unterstützungsbedarf.
Die HFHS hat ihre Grundlage, Ziele und Motive in einem Leitbild festgehalten, die interne Zusammenarbeit und Organisation ist verbindlich geregelt.
Neben der Durchführung von Ausbildungsgängen und dem Angebot von Fort- und Weiterbildungen legt die HFHS grossen Wert auf die Vernetzung mit anderen Ausbildungsanbietern und den Praxisinstitutionen.
Die HFHS arbeitet mit dem QM-Verfahren „Wege zur Qualität“ und ist „EduQua“ zertifiziert.
