The High 5ive Foundation was founded by NFL pro Drew Stanton in 2008 as a way to improve the quality of life for those with varying disabilities. In the more than nine years since it was formed, the foundation has served Sparrow Children's Center in Lansing, Special Olympics, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the City of Flint to name a few.
“As a student-athlete at Michigan State University I had the pleasure to work with Special Olympics, Children’s Miracle Network and many more great organizations,” says Drew about the foundation.
“Throughout those years I learned so much about myself and what helping others was all about. The donation of someone's time can be the greatest gift because it comes from the heart and has no price tag.”
Each year, the High 5ive Foundation holds its annual golf outing in Lansing, Mich. as a fundraiser to benefit a specific High 5ive initiative. Proceeds from last year’s event went toward the complete renovation of the pediatric playroom at Sparrow Health System.
The pediatric playroom, which will be dedicated June 15, provides a welcoming place for pediatric patients to play, color, and simply spend time away from their hospital rooms.
This year’s Celebrity Golf Outing and Charity Auction will take place June 16 at Hawk Hollow Golf Course, once again benefiting the High 5ive Foundation and its projects.
