As the owner of a successful computer consulting company for the past 20 years, Kathy Crifasi parlayed her entrepreneurial spirit and love of fashion into an entirely new field when she formed Hip Shift, Corp. in 2009. According to Crifasi, the parent company of the Hipzbag brand came about out of sheer necessity. The 45-year-old professional was constantly misplacing her cell phone - fumbling in her purse for it or calling it from other phones to find it. "I had long since developed a love affair with my cell phone and carried it with me wherever I went," she says. "But it was inconvenient to walk around with it in one hand and uncomfortable to keep it in my pocket." That is when Crifasi, who thought the fanny pack to be a serious fashion faux pas, came up with the concept for the Hipzbag. She spent a year in development and launched the Hipzbag at the 2010 Oscar's Gifting Suite. Since then, Hipzbag has been featured as a celebrity pick in OK!
