香港街舞發展總會前身為香港街舞發展聯盟，於 2015 年由一群熱心推動街舞發展的導師及舞者成立的非牟利藝術社團，2023年正式成為慈善機構並改名為香港街舞發展總會
自2015年成立以來，本會持續獲香港藝術發展局支持項目包括：《香港街舞公開賽》（2016年至今）、《街舞劇場發展及交流計劃》（2018年至今）﹑《街舞賞析計劃》（2020年至今）裡的學校巡演及錄像項目，使本會得以繼續實踐發展本地街舞的目標。
除此之外，本會亦致力與其他不同藝文機構、公司以及藝術團體合作，聯合舉辦及協辦各形式的街舞活動。當中包括成為康文署的社區文化大使推出全港首個街舞AR劇場《結～緣》、於中環海濱活動空間舉辦「香港街舞節@中環夏誌」、為青年廣場製作「型動·營」的街舞營以及為宜居城市協辦的「宜居城市街舞影片創作比賽」等等。
