*Honest People is a non-governmental organization formed by bringing together the energy and resources of active Belarusians during the 2020 presidential election with the aim of holding honest and fair elections. We've made white band a symbol of honest elections and inspired Belarusians to give their votes. Independent monitoring was organized at 1310 polling stations and together with the platforms «Voice» and ZUBR, we proved multiple violations during the 2020 presidential elections. As a result, Lukashenka was not recognized the president by most countries of the world, nor was he recognized by the Belarusians.
After the 2020 election, *Honest People continued its activities.
Today we raise legal awareness among Belarusians and encourage them to apply their knowledge, organize and conduct civic activism campaigns, create and support technological platforms for civil society actors, organize the assistance to victims of repression in Belarus.
Over the 3 years of our existence, we have grown into a sustainable NGO, expanded our activities and managed to establish ourselves as a flagship of civic education and activism in Belarus, acquired a recognizable brand and reputation. During this time more than 25 large-scale projects and media campaigns have been realized.
We divide the work into electoral and engagement campaigns and programs and implement them with the help of technical platforms and communication tools. In addition to content within the framework of projects and programs *Honest People publishes explanatory materials on topical issues in the formats of videos, infographics and text posts. Youtube videos of *Honest People have a reach of tens and hundreds of thousands of users, and our social networks have more than 120 thousand subscribers.
