Support of this project was allocated to the start-up costs of the first year of operation, including the salaries for the Head of School and teachers, student textbooks and teacher materials. Completed Project 1: Kibumba Safe House Project [Democratic Republic of Congo] - Funded HC has partnered with HEAL Africa to transform the lives of women who have been used as weapons of war in what has been described by the United Nations as the "rape capital of the world." Support of this project provides a security wall, one year counselor salary, as well as a rain gutter and water tank system at the Kibumba Safe House which provides medical & psychological care, education and microcredit opportunities to women affected by war in DR Congo.
