The production of synthetic fuels and biofuels faces significant challenges due to the high cost of hydrogen, a key element in the synthesis of hydrocarbons from biomass and CO₂.
To address this problem, HE has developed a new catalyst and innovative process that allows hydrogen to be transferred from water to organic and inorganic molecules efficiently in a single step.
This advance makes it possible to produce biofuels with performance equivalent to conventional fuels, but with substantially lower costs compared to e-fuels, whose price is influenced by the high cost of electrolytic hydrogen.
