The Hydros Foundation is a non-profit, public-interest organisation. Its aim is to promote technological innovation to meet the energy and environmental challenges facing the nautical and maritime industry and to raise the awareness of these issues among professionals, students, opinion leaders and the general public. To foster innovation, the Hydros Foundation offers an educational ecosystem within which novel ideas and key players are brought together to stimulate new initiatives, and supports the development of solutions that will optimise the energy efficiency of boats – from maritime transport through to yachting and competitive sailing. Its initiative is based on the following key programmes:  - Created in 2014, the Hydrocontest is the Foundation's flagship event and the 1st international competition devoted to nautical and maritime energy efficiency. The contest, which invites participants to design and build boat prototypes that are as efficient as possible, calls for thinking in terms of industrial applications to encourage innovation in imagining the boats of tomorrow. - The Little Cup is the International C-Class Championship. Established in 1961, the competition is often seen as the testing ground for preparing for the America’s Cup. With its ultra-light flying catamarans capable of sailing at 3 times the wind speed – the most efficient boats to date – it is an international laboratory for innovation where cutting-edge technologies are tested, compared and approved. The Hydros Foundation has been asked by the C Class to organise the 2015, 2017 and 2019 editions of the Little Cup. - Launched in 2010, the Hydros.ch hydrofoil catamaran is the Foundation's ambassador ship. Holding the 3 emblematic Lake Geneva speed records, Switzerland's fastest boat is a formidable tool for awareness raising and experimentation. Capable of reaching 2.7 times the wind speed, it is the perfect illustration of the role of technology in the quest for efficiency.
