Ideals plastic drainage pipe is extruded, corrugated, perforated and coiled with modern equipment at Ideal's plants in Carman, Manitoba, Thorndale, Ontairo and Winchester, Ontario. Tile drainage offers many advantages such as early drying of soils, allowing earlier spring tillage and more timely planting. At harvest time, combines can work longer hours if the weather has been poor. It takes less fuel to plough, cultivate and harvest in good soil conditions. Good systematic tile drainage will improve the soil environment for microbial activity, encourage good root development and make more useful moisture available to plants. The result is greater yield of healthier crops. The advantages of good soil do not stop with reduced soil compaction and degradation. Field efficiencies of combines and tractors are improved and there is less damage from mud and machine abuse from being stuck. As well as drainage tubing, Ideal Pipe supplies a complete range of drainage fittings, including couplers, elbows, tees and reducers as well as filter envelopes for fine sands and silty soils. Surface inlets are perfect for preventing ponding and stopping erosion at ditchbanks and low-spots in fields. Ideal Pipe has a heavy duty corrugated pipe inlet which is bright red for visibility in the field. Inlets come complete with fittings.
