We’re a non-profit dedicated to keeping the Igbo language alive for future generations by: 1. Empowering Igbo speaking children in Nigeria with one-time and/or recurring scholarships. 2. Encouraging Igbo youths actively studying the Igbo language in college/university with one-time and/or recurring scholarship(s) 3. Creating a space for Igbo degree holders to find meaningful employment, in their various fields, via symbiotic partnerships with companies/professionals. 4. Providing free or subsidized Igbo learning access to Igbo children, teens, and adults in the diaspora. 5. Making ‘Igbotic’ a positive vibe. In 2012, UNESCO placed Igbo on the endangered language list due it’s rapidly declining use. The extinction prediction shed light on the alarming issue of Igbo people, home and abroad, barely passing on the language to their offspring due to several reasons including and not limited: Minimized of opportunities for ‘Igbotic’ graduates in major Nigerian companies Limited funds to obtain Igbo learning resources for families in the diaspora. The above reasons tend to preclude Igbo learning and unfortunately has led to our dear language being on a gradual slide into extinction. The core of any culture is language… the loss of a native tongue would definitely have a domino effect on all aspects of said culture. Therefore, Igborize.org is a wholesome effort to keep the Igbo language alive by providing aid to speakers and learners. We believe providing a level of support to applicable Igbo speaking children would help ensure a bright future in any field they choose. We also know that Igbo language graduates deserve financial encouragement as they master our beloved language and, subsequently, have professional opportunities. This would lead to an efficient passing of the baton to future generations.
