Infodrog unterstützt das Bundesamt für Gesundheit (BAG) bei der Entwicklung und Umsetzung der 4-Säulen-Suchtpolitik gemäss Betäubungsmittelgesetz sowie den 2015 und 2016 durch den Bundesrat verabschiedeten Strategien NCD und Sucht. Infodrog fördert insbesondere die Vielfalt, Durchlässigkeit, Koordination, Qualität sowie die Zugänglichkeit der verschiedenen Präventions- Beratungs-, Therapie- und Schadensminderungsangebote. Die Leitung von Expertengruppen, die Organisation von regionalen und (inter-)nationalen Fachtagungen sowie die Realisierung gesamtschweizerischer Projekte sind Beiträge zu einer wirksamen Vernetzung und Koordination.
Infodrog entstand 2006 aus dem Zusammenschluss der 1995 gegründeten Schweizerischen Koordinationsstelle für stationäre Therapieangebote im Drogenbereich KOSTE und der Schweizerischen Fachstelle für Schadensminderung im Drogenbereich FASD.
