BACKGROUND The “In Food We Trust” project is initiated by Royal FrieslandCampina (“RFC”), iLabs Technologies, and Institute for Future of Living. In Food We Trust is part of the Smart City Roadmap for the Kingdom of The Netherlands as Food Security will become more and more important in Smart City initiatives since most of the world population will be living in cities which requires sustainable and healthy production, supply and delivery and consumption and waste of food in cities. Therefore, In Food We Trust is supported by Dutch Royals and Dutch Government. The project will be executed by a newly founded, independent entity to ensure the independence of this platform and ecosystem. This open and independent approach is vital for success and to differentiate from other initiatives. This approach removes barriers for other parties to join, because collaboration is key. WHAT? Development of a public, trustworthy, open and transparent international platform and ecosystem for Security, Traceability and Sustainability of the full Food & Beverages Supply Chain, from grass to glass, from raw ingredient to finished food. CALL TO ACTION Truly being able to Track & Trace products from grass to glass and cross company, we need to think bigger than one company at the time and co-create a platform together. The upcoming phase (Phase 1) is a feasibility study where we shape the platform together, set requirements and create business cases for pilots. With this coalition of the willing we will attract external funding for the pilots. Phase 2 is the pilot phase where we test our platform as defined during the feasibility study in the pilots.
