ICRA, the Inner Climate Response Alliance, is a new National Lottery funded partnership which supports the inner dimension of climate action.
The Mindfulness Initiative, the Climate Psychology Alliance and the Climate Majority Project are partnering in this new initiative to develop the first UK-wide community of practice of people doing inner work around the climate crisis, linking in with existing local adaptation efforts over five years.
We think that for climate action and adaptation to be effective, we need both ‘inner work’ - practices to help process fear, grief and overwhelm - and community with others who care.
Without tools of emotional resilience and community cohesion, we struggle to take consistent, meaningful action. When we learn to integrate emotional tools into our responses to the climate crisis, we can change the ways we are living - to work towards a sustainable, just and joyful future together.
We’re building a new network for people already practising this, and for those ready to explore it - with a forum to connect, share, and grow a vibrant, caring climate community. Join us!

This comes from the Climate Action Fund, a commitment from The National Lottery Community Fund to support communities across the UK to take action on climate change and involve more people in climate action.
