Das Institut LernPlus bietet eine individuelle Form der Einzeltherapie an, es ist keine Nachhilfe. Es richtet sich an Kinder und Jugendliche mit Teilleistungsstörungen, die im schulischen Bereich durch Probleme im Lesen und Schreiben (LRS) und/oder im Rechnen (Dyskalkulie) auffallen.

Die lerntherapeutische Arbeit erfolgt in Auseinandersetzung mit dem Lernstand des Kindes/Jugendlichen und ist abgestimmt auf seine Bedürfnisse und Fähigkeiten. Die enge Zusammenarbeit mit den Eltern und der Schule sind Voraussetzung der therapeutischen Förderung. Der Ansatz, der das Kind/Jugendlichen als Ganzes in den Blick nimmt, ist somit Grundsatz des Lerninstitutes LernPlus.
Schon die alten Griechen wussten, dass es beim Lernen nicht darum geht Fässer zu füllen, sondern Fackeln zu entzünden.
Um dies zu ermöglichen wird jedes Kind als einzigartiger Mensch betrachtet, der sein eigenes Lerntempo hat und sein individuelles Arbeitssystem mitbringt. Es setzt an den Fähigkeiten, Kräften und Ressourcen an und stärkt so das Selbstwertgefühl und Vertrauen. Die Basis ist die klärende Selbsterfahrung im Lernprozess und das Erkennen der eigenen Kräfte.
