Our Story
InterMatch launched for professional investors seeking for non-traditional asset classes and professional football being in need of bespoke financing solutions. We recognise the resilience of the football industry in challenging economic and social times, particularly following the financial and social shock of the Covid-19 pandemic. We also recognise that football clubs as an asset class in open league systems have been historically overlooked and that certain investors have reassessed the attractiveness of this asset class.
An historically under-served market segment
The cross-border football business is complex; traditions, market practice and risks vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. A new profile of investor is available to court, however, many current owners lack the access and networks to these new sources of capital and face the risk of jeopardising the on-pitch performance of a club by publicly disclosing any intent to sell. Similarly, many investors interested in entering into this asset class are unfamiliar with it.
Founding principles
InterMatch was founded on the need to ensure that all clubs should have the means of marketing their investment opportunities discreetly, anonymously, and on their own terms in a way that the global giants of the game are able to do with far greater ease. We set out to bridge the gap between lesser-known clubs and match them to the right investors and, vice versa, to provide invaluable insight on and access to historically overlooked investment opportunities to this new generation of future club custodians.
