Intermundo ist der Dachverband zur Förderung von Jugendaustausch.
Seit 1987 setzt sich Intermundo in Politik, Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft dafür ein, dass möglichst viele Jugendliche von einem Jugendaustausch profitieren können.
Jugendaustausch ist Bildung und weit mehr als ein Sprachaufenthalt: Er stärkt Selbstbewusstsein und Selbstständigkeit, Offenheit und Verantwortungsgefühl, vernetztes und kreatives Denken. Diese Kompetenzen sind in unserer globalisierten Welt unentbehrlich. Deshalb sollten Möglichkeiten für Jugendaustausch allen interessierten Jugendlichen offen stehen. Zudem ist Jugendaustausch nicht nur ein Gewinn für die Teilnehmenden: auch Gastfamilien, -betriebe und -schulen profitieren von der interkulturellen Erfahrung.
Intermundo setzt sich darum dafür ein:
dass Jugendaustausch als Bildungsform breit anerkannt und gefördert wird.
dass finanzielle und institutionelle Hürden abgebaut werden.
dass alle Jugendlichen von Jugendaustausch profitieren können.
Unsere Vision ist, dass Intermundo mit diesem Engagement in der zunehmend globalisierten Welt zur interkulturellen Verständigung beiträgt.
