Generic objectives
The Master course in “Computer Science and Internet of Things” (IoT) aims to train professionals who have not only the classical knowledge of Computer Science (programming, databases, internet, operating systems, communication networks, mobile communications) but also the knowledge required for the creation and hardware-software systems programming, as well Data Science, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and High Performance Computing. Graduates will be trained engineering professionals who work with experts in the various fields of the problem and are able to build systems with hardware and software components applicable to various areas, including health and welfare, agriculture and tourism, smart homes and smart cities. This way he/she can apply a set of specialized computer skills, in areas of great development, to a set of problems in important areas of local, regional and national interest.
Intended learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the graduate with the master degree in “Internet of Things” should be able to:
- Acquire knowledge independently;
- Reason logically and form opinions using a critical and original thinking;
- Have an holistic view of the area of the internet of things, including applications in several areas, systems development, and integration with other systems;
- Conduct research and choose appropriate techniques for the development of systems for the Internet of things;
- Design, present, and communicate using current techniques and technologies;
- Describe and study the behaviour and structure of solutions for the internet of things;
- Create new and innovative solutions to problems;
- Work in multidisciplinary teams.
