ITACA-SABIEN es el Área de I+D+i del Instituto de Aplicaciones de las Tecnologías de la Información y de las Comunicaciones Avanzadas (ITACA), dedicada a la aplicación de las Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones (TIC) en el ámbito de la salud, la calidad de vida y los servicios sociales.
Las actividades desarrolladas por SABIEN, buscan introducir elementos innovadores en el mercado, que supongan una mejora de los servicios de salud ofrecidos al ciudadano, así como una mejora de la calidad de vida de las personas mediante la provisión de nuevos servicios o mejora de los existentes.
SABIEN participa en programas de I+D, ocupando una posición relevante en el ranking de participación en proyectos europeos del VII Programa Marco y el Horizonte 2020..
Asimismo, dado que la finalidad primordial de SABIEN es la innovación, se realiza un continuo esfuerzo en materializar acciones de transferencia, que han dado origen a un importante número de acuerdos y contratos con empresas de prestigio y organismos públicos de relevancia.
ITACA-SABIEN is the R&D&i Area of the Institute for the Application of Advanced Information and Communication Technologies (ITACA), dedicated to the application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to the fields of public health, quality of life and social services.
SABIEN activities involve developing ICT applications with the aim of providing innovative techniques to improve the services offered to the general public, as well as enhancing quality of life by providing new services or improving those already in existence.
SABIEN is among the leaders in the ranking of participation in European projects within the VII Framework Programme and 2020 Horizon.
As the prime objective of SABIEN is innovation, a continuous effort is also made to cooperate with other organisations, and this has given rise to a considerable number of agreements and contracts with leading companies and public organisations.
