Il Comitato Nazionale Italiano per le Grandi Dighe è un’associazione culturale e scientifica che si propone di promuovere ed agevolare lo studio di tutti i problemi connessi con le dighe, la loro realizzazione ed il loro esercizio.
Il Comitato partecipa alla Commissione Internazionale per le Grandi Dighe, (ICOLD-CIGB) organismo creato a Parigi nel 1928 anche con la partecipazione dell’Italia, la cui adesione è stata formalizzata nel 1936 con la costituzione del Comitato dapprima sotto l’egida del Ministero dei Lavori Pubblici, ed in seguito dal 1984 come associazione di diritto privato senza scopo di lucro.
Come tale l’associazione è aperta a tutti coloro che sono interessati all’argomento; e per chiunque desideri sapere di più sui fini, l’organizzazione ed il funzionamento dell’associazione è a disposizione un sito Internet, pronto ad una semplice consultazione di tutte le attività promosse dal Comitato.
