Enhancing Physician and Patient Adoption of Technology
Beginning in early 2012, the founders of ITphysicians saw a need in the healthcare technology consulting industry for a unique service of supporting their fellow clinicians. With the rapid introduction of electronic health records (EHR), many physicians found themselves ill-prepared to use this new technology. Physicians were and still are under pressure to quickly incorporate the computer into their practice. Those that are uncomfortable with computer software, word processing and keyboard use don’t utilize the full potential of the software. Furthermore, we heard many complain that typical support consultants didn't truly understand the way a physician thinks and deals with the unique challenges in patient care.
ITphysicians developed a team of teach-savvy physician consultants that use multiple EHRs in clinical residency and practice. These professionals take time from their busy practices to assist their physician colleagues during EHR implementations. As a result, physicians we have supported remark how much they appreciate working with their peers when learning a new EHR and clients are amazed at the calming presence our physician consultants have on their medical staff.
Not only do our physician consultants expertly guide their colleagues through complex EHR systems, but our team of well over 200 physicians represent a wide variety of clinical specialties and other scientific and technical backgrounds. We utilize their experience and expertise in our second core service line to advise clients on product feasibility studies, healthcare tech product development, clinical advising, and physician focus groups to review new products.
