Passion & Conviction Passion As third generation beekeepers, we have a passion for the one of the most amazing things that God ever created… the Honey bee! Between the Queen, the Drone and the Worker bee, they magically work in tandem to produce one of the most incredible and delicious product(s) in the world; Honey and Honeycomb. It is the only insect that produces food eaten by man. Worker Bees – Are female, but are not capable of reproducing. They do all the work in the hive, and they control most of what goes on inside. She will live anywhere from 30-45 days and make only about 1/12 of a teaspoon in their lifetime. Drones – A drone is a male bee. A drone’s primary role is to mate with a fertile queen. Should a drone succeed in mating, he soon dies. Queen – The young queen stores up to 6 million sperm from multiple drones. She will selectively release sperm for the remaining 2–7 years of her life. She can lay anywhere from 1.000-2,000 eggs a day! There is normally only one adult, mated queen in a hive, in which case the bees will usually follow and fiercely protect her. Conviction To make Earth’s finest honey and honeycomb! We feel that can only be accomplished by taking the honey and honeycomb straight from our hives.
