I built my first bass in 2004 simply because I could not find what I wanted from a production bass in terms of sound and aesthetics. From there, my bass building turned into a hobby, building basses for friends and family. Ultimately, it has evolved into a part-time business out of my garage. I have built basses for people from the West Coast to the East Coast and even in the Philippines. Starting by talking over design ideas and finishing with the customers dream bass, every aspect of JC Basses is handled by me. There is a purpose for every straight line and smooth contour on my basses, it is this attention to detail that makes each bass unique. It becomes very apparent with just one look at a JC Basses custom bass, that this is my passion in life. For the most part, I build strictly custom basses. Meaning I do not have certain models that I offer. I will build any shape and any wood combination the customer wants. Along with a custom bass, I try to have a nice working relationship with each customer. I am constantly updating the customer when I have progressed further on their instrument.
