I’ve been living in France for almost 30 years, but in Southwest France, I’ve learned a whole new language - that of fine wines, fun wines, pure and authentic wines made from a dazzling array of grape varieties by growers who share the same ethos in the vineyard and the winery. They sent me on a trip - a sort of Southwest wine version of the Arabian Nights where each story leads to another - another grower, another grape variety, another terroir…
I visited the vineyards, went to wine fairs, read voraciously, passed a few wine exams - and then in 2023, I opened this little wine shop in an old stable beneath our home and began to host tastings, because there’s so much to discover on our doorstep!
