Das European Center of Just Transition Research and Impact-Driven Transfer (JTC) beschäftigt sich mit Übermorgen-Fragen für einen gerechten, nachhaltigen und klimaneutralen Übergang. Dieser Transfer ist ein wechselseitiger Prozess zwischen Wissenschaft, Gesellschaft und Wirtschaft, bei dem wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse in praktische Innovationen umgesetzt und praxisnahe Erfahrungen in der Forschung untersucht werden.
Das Ziel des JTC sind forschungsbasierte, praxisorientierte Lösungen für die spezifischen Herausforderungen und Bedarfe der Bergbaufolgeregion Mitteldeutsches Revier. Daran arbeiten 17 Innovationsteams, die sich interdisziplinär aus den Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften sowie den Natur- und Materialwissenschaften an der Martin-Luther-Universität zusammensetzen. Die Innovationsteams sind eine Schnittstelle zwischen Theorie und Praxis und fördern so aktiv die Transfer- und Gründungsorientierung.
Das JTC ist ein Projekt der MLU Halle-Wittenberg und wird von der Europäischen Union aus dem Just Transition Fund gefördert.
