Der Klabautermann e.V. wurde 1990 mit dem Ziel gegründet, chronisch kranke Kinder und deren Familien zu betreuen und die Kliniken für Neugeborene, Kinder und Jugendliche und für Kinderchirurgie kind- und familienfreundlicher zu gestalten. In den vergangenen Jahren konnte unter anderem das „Sternstunden-Spielhaus“ als arztfreie Zone für die kleinen Patienten sowie eine Kinder- und Jugendbibliothek und Elternwohnungen im Nachsorgezentrums des Vereins geschaffen werden. Heute ist der Klabautermann e.V. zertifizierter Träger des Bunten Kreises Nürnberg, Familiennachsorge Klabautermann e.V.
