The mission of the Controlled Environment Plant Physiology & Technology Lab (Kubota Lab) is to serve in science-based technology in the area of controlled environment agriculture (CEA), where we translate scientific understanding and discoveries into innovative applications.
Our projects are in an interdisciplinary area that encompasses plant physiology and horticultural engineering to enhance the understanding and efficiency of CEA plant production systems such as greenhouses, growth chambers, and vertical farms.
We also work on CEA technologies for transplant production as an interface to contribute to conventional production systems in high tunnels and open fields.
