CIETI -LabRISE (Laboratory for Research and Innovation in Sensors and Engineering) is a research group of ISEP (www.biomark.isep.ipp.pt) and a pole of CIETI (Center for Innovation in Engineering and Industrial Technology). LabRISE was established in July 2023 and is dedicated to the development of smart materials that serve as artificial detection platforms for biomarkers and their integration into suitable nanostructured carriers. This concept is mainly applied in healthcare, early detection of chronic diseases and therapy. The transduction forms developed are mostly electrical and optical, including antibiotic monitoring by coloration using redox reactions of suitable compounds. In general, LabRISE's activities are multidisciplinary, combining basic and applied research with technological development and focusing on the development of smart materials that can recognize very different molecules.
