Ziel von LIL ist die Entwicklung der Lausitz hin zu einer Modellregion für die Anpassung der Landnutzung an den Klimawandel. Dies soll durch innovative Technologien und Nutzungsformen entlang der bioökonomischen Wertschöpfungskette geschehen. Im Bündnis sind derzeit mehr als 60 Partner aus Forschung, Wirtschaft, Landwirtschaft, Politik und Verwaltung eingebunden. LIL bietet die Grundlage für F&E-Vorhaben zu ressourceneffizienten Anbausystemen, trockenstress-resistenten Anbaukulturen und bioökonomischen Wertschöpfungsketten.
Das WIR!-Bündnis LIL wird von der BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg als einziger Technischer Universität in Brandenburg und vom Leibniz-Zentrum für Agrarlandschaftsforschung (ZALF) e.V. mit seiner Expertise im Bereich innovativer Landnutzungssysteme gemeinsam geleitet. LIL wird im Rahmen des Programms „Wandel durch Innovation in der Region (WIR!)“ des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung gefördert.
